On the way home from my week in Guadalupe last Saturday I took a short detour through Casmalia where I found this horse in the field. If you think that Guadalupe is a small town…try Casmalia on for size.
After taking a coffee break at an old friend’s house in the late afternoon I set out for home. I told myself I wouldn’t stop for any more roadside photographs, but when I saw this valley I couldn’t help but make a u-turn on Hwy 1 and take a hike to the top of a hill to get this shot. Spring is in full effect.
Back on the 101 I rounded the corner to the coast just in time to find myself running parallel to the Amtrak Surfliner. Shot along the Gaviota coast through the passenger window at 60 mph.
