At home after picking up our weekly share at the Fairview Gardens CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) I was rinsing and storing the lettuce. I love organic produce because while you rinse it you see what was on it. Dirt, bugs, debris. With conventional produce you can’t see the pesticides, herbicides….Anyhow I was deep in a head of Romaine lettuce when I realized the beauty of this ever unraveling vegetable. I couldn’t help but set up a makeshift studio in the living room and shoot a traditional portrait.
