After a day where Chile experienced one of largest earthquakes in recorded history, tsunami warnings caused evacuations throughout the pacific rim, and consistent and heavy rain kept me in the office, my spirit was set at ease as I watched the sun fall and the moon rise over More Mesa in Santa Barbara.

As I sat in the rain waiting for a few moments of dry skies a rainbow broke to the East. From my vantage point I could see both ends of the rainbow, but my 24mm lens wasn’t quite wide enough to capture it.

A short while after the sky to the Southeast ignited.

Then the Southwest.

And finally the full moon appeared through the clouds to give the evening a perfect finish.
